With the year approaching 2024, Marvel has prepared various new characters that are confirmed to appear in the MCU. Marvel Studios has presented a long plan for Phases 5 and 6 where in these two phases fans will be introduced to a series of new characters. They will appear as part of the storyline which of course makes fans curious about their appearance. The following are the new Marvel characters who will appear in the MCU.
12Rio Vidal
The first new Marvel character to appear in the MCU is Rio Vidal. This character has been confirmed to appear in the sequel series to WandaVision, namely Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. In the production process of the series, many fans pay attention to the cast members who join, where they suspect who the characters played by these cast members are. However, there is one character who managed to steal the attention of fans.
The mysterious character is played by actress Aubrey Plaza. After being a mystery, it was finally discovered that the character Aubrey Plaza would play was named Rio Vidal. This character was deliberately created for this series, which makes Rio Vidal the next original MCU character. There is no detailed information about his character yet. However, previous reports stated that Vidal was “a green wizard.”
If this is the case, it means that Vidal most likely has a connection or was inspired by the great witch character in the comic, namely Morgan le Fay. What's interesting is that before being confirmed as Rio Vidal, Aubrey Plaza was rumored to be playing one of the iconic characters who is the “lover” of Deadpool and Thanos, namely Lady Death.
