One Piece: Losing to Blackbeard, Law Gives Immortality to Luffy?

Trafalgar Law has become one of Luffy's allies who has contributed a lot when they faced difficulties. One example is that Law saved Luffy's life during the peak war at Marineford. If Law hadn't come at that time, Luffy might have died. Luffy then “repaid” Law's kindness by defeating Doflamingo.

After the Punk Hazard and Dressrosa arc, Law then went on an adventure in the Wano region and became Luffy's ally until they separated at the end of the story. Geeks certainly already know why this alliance or ally was made by Luffy, as well as the story about Corazon and Doflamingo. Geek also certainly knows about Law's plan to destroy the SMILE factories in Punk Hazard and Dressrossa, simply to stop the SMILE devil fruit production process and make Kaido angry.

In essence, killing Doflamingo was Law's motive or desire from the start of the arc. After Blackbeard's defeat, Law's current condition and situation is still a mystery. Some fans speculate that Law will avenge his defeat from Blackbeard. However, there is also an interesting theory developing among fans regarding this matter.

After Blackbeard's defeat, there was a theory that Trafalgar Law might give Luffy his Ope Ope devil fruit. Specifically, Law will sacrifice himself to give Luffy immortality like Im and the Gorosei experienced where they could live for 800 years. Why then did Law give his devil fruit to Luffy?

As mentioned above, Trafalgar Law was finally defeated by Blackbeard. The destruction that Law received as a result of that fight was truly extraordinary, so it is natural that many fans are worried about how he will recover after this. Law has lost his crew, his submarine, and even his hat.

With such a huge loss, it seemed inevitable that Law would decide to retire as a pirate. Because, basically, he's lost it all. It's hard to start over from scratch. This then becomes one of the considerations if Law might decide to sacrifice himself to give Luffy the power of the Ope Ope devil fruit.

Why then did Law give his devil fruit to Luffy? Why then did Law sacrifice himself to give Luffy immortality? None other than to defeat their main enemy, the World Government. In this case, specifically their main enemies are Gorosei and Im Sama. In Reverie's flashback, it is revealed that Im is indeed from 800 years ago.

According to Ivankov, he comes from a royal family called Nerona, which is one of the royal families that forms the World Government. Seeing how Im was able to survive until now, until he came to power, it means that Im's strength is indeed unusual. Geeks might wonder, isn't Luffy's Gear 5 power one of the strongest?

Even though Luffy is the character with the most powerful strength in the world of One Piece, we still don't know the extent of his maximum strength. Apart from that, there are indeed clues that Nika's power is not limited. However, the strength of Gorosei and Im also feels much more powerful and cannot be underestimated.

With that in mind, it seems quite reasonable that Law would try to give Luffy the greatest power of the Ope Ope devil fruit, namely immortality. After all, this is the greatest power that Im and the Gorosei have been looking for all this time. If Luffy then has this power, it means that the fight between Luffy and Im at the end of the One Piece story will be balanced.
